Pottery
A fully equipped community stoneware pottery studio is operational on site. Capabilities include clay mixing and extrusion; potter’s wheels; bisque firing; glazing and reduction glaze firing. Local potters are invited to join the community. Visitors who are enjoying hospitality services can also sign up for lessons during their stay.
The Wheel Room
3 electric wheels and 1 kick wheel. A nice wedging block and a bin full of wheel-
ready clay.
The Glaze Room
A wax-resist station, 7 studio glazes, lots of tools plus running water.
The Kiln Room
2 electric kilns for bisque firing, a small test kiln and a large gas kiln.
Hand Building / Sculpture Classroom
Large classes (6-8 people) are by group request.
Small group lessons (1-2 people) by appointment only.
The Potter’s Lounge
Includes lockers and a small library. There is also a mini-fridge and a coffee maker.
